Unveiled in Abu Dhabi last week, the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 has arrived in the Middle East. Lighter, stronger and more capable than ever before, the new Silverado weighs up to 204 kg less compared to the 2018 model.
To shave off all that weight, the doors, bonnet and tailgate are made from aluminium. Other parts of the vehicle are made from steel from added strength.
No less than five engine and transmission options are available for GCC customers across the 2019 Silverado range, including 5.3- and 6.2-litre V8 engines with cylinder deactivation.
The larger displacement of the two is connected to the new 10-speed transmission. For the first time in the region, the 2.7-litre turbo 4-cylinder engine is also available.
New for 2019 is the class-exclusive power tailgate available on the 2019 Silverado High Country that can be operated via the key.
On the safety front, the 2019 Silverado gets a safety cage constructed from seven different grades of steel as well as several standard and available active safety features.
As for connectivity, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3.0 system is standard across the entire range and is equipped with Apple CarPlay. Siri Eyes Free, a wireless phone charger and a dual Bluetooth connectivity feature are optional.
