Earlier this year, Kia revealed plans to launch its newest and largest SUV in the second quarter of 2019. That day has arrived and gone, and the Kia Telluride is now officially available in the UAE.
Designed at Kia’s studio in the US, the SUV borrows its name from a town in Colorado known for its skiing. While it’s bold and intimidating, it faces stiff competition in the market from the Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer and the newly launched Volkswagen Teramont.
Inside, the range-topping Telluride is filled with options and is fitted with three rows of seats with the option of having the second row equipped with captain chairs with ventilation.
The seats are wrapped in Nappa leather and are available in several colours, while the dashboard trim is covered in faux wood trim with chrome highlight.
On the tech side, the Kia Telluride is equipped with a sizable 10.25-inch infotainment system, 7-inch LCD dashboard display, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting system, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio sound system and the list goes on.
Safety features are also present with the Telluride featuring blind-spot view monitor, lane keeping assist, forward park distance warning and a driver attention warning system.
Kia Telluride’s for sale in the UAE are equipped with a 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine generating 291 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque and is connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
A drive mode selector is standard and offers drivers the option to choose from six unique modes; Eco, Comfort, Sport, Smart, Mud and Sand.
The all-new Kia Telluride starts at AED 119,000 for the base model and goes all the way up to AED 170,000 for the fully loaded SX.
