Rhodes Twenty 10
Rhodes Twenty 10 is a restaurant where you take your time to enjoy the evening. Upon arrival, guests can enjoy a few pre-dinner drinks in the lounge, with its comfortable seats and chilled out atmosphere.
Food orders are also taken here, and when you’re ready, you can head to the dining area to enjoy some accomplished British cuisine. Traditional dishes such as Welsh rarebit and fish and chips appear on the menu, but everything has been lifted to a fine dining standard.
Starters are served as sharing dishes, with one dish enough for two people; the beetroot and cream cheese salad, served as towers, is a deliciously light and fresh way to start the meal. When it comes to mains, steaks and seafood dominate, and although the food isn’t complicated, the high-quality ingredients shine through.
Service is exemplary throughout, especially if you need information about the food. Taking the staffs’ advice certainly pays dividends, especially with their recommendation of the signature sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
Perched up on the 68th floor of the JW Marriott Marquis, stunning views are almost guaranteed if dining at this boutique steakhouse. It goes without saying that you need to book well in advance to secure a window seat, but even if you end up away from the view, the experience is still an impressive one.
Light tones of cream and white make the restaurant a pleasant place to be, and despite its high-end credentials, it doesn’t feel stuffy. The cheerful staff help maintain this atmosphere through their friendly and helpful manner, while not being overbearing. Hungry diners will enjoy Prime 68’s hefty steaks, including the 12-ounce New York strip.
There are plenty of options to customize steaks here, with an array of sauces and butters featuring indulgent ingredients such as truffle as well add-ons including lobster and meat rubs. With such breath-taking views and pleasant setting, it’s pleasing that the food fits the surroundings.
The Rib Room
Despite being located off the lobby in Jumeirah Emirates Towers, The Rib Room feels secluded and exclusive. The dark interior is stylish, with spacious cushioned seating lining the walls and tables filling the centre of the dining room. When it gets busy and it often does the restaurant has a buzzing atmosphere and feels like the place to be.
The Rib Room’s popularity comes from its hearty steak offerings. There are grain fed American, Australian and Canadian options as well as grass fed Argentinean, while rib eye, striploin and tenderloin are the choice of cuts.
Seafood lovers are also catered for, to a degree, especially when it comes to starters, with scallops, calamari and oysters available, while there is also a concise choice of mains from the sea.
It’s also worth saving space for dessert, especially the creamy banana parfait with dulce de leche. While some of the dishes can be a bit hit and miss, this is a high-end dining experience with a special sense of occasion.
