I’m not big on detoxing, but given the supposed health benefits of a few days of raw, organic food, I though it was worth a try.
I tried the Detox Delight three-day cleanse – the products are organic, vegan, gluten-free, natural, cold pressed and handmade. Packed with valuable enzymes, vitamins and minerals, they nourish your body on a cellular level, stimulate the metabolism and digestive system and give you extra energy.
A well cleansed body can make optimum use of food and burn fat at an ideal rate – for lasting results without the yo-yo effect.
What’s the food like?
The first day’s menu had a homemade granola for breakfast, Horatiki salad for lunch, vegetable quinoa for salad and two detox juices with two small snacks. I’m not a big fan of granola but this one was delicious. The juices were fresh though it took a bit of getting used to the natural flavours.
What needed improvement?
Some of the meals had broccoli and cauliflower and while I know they are super foods, I had difficulty eating them raw. I am not a big fan so I rearranged my meals a bit. I mixed some of the other vegetables and fruits to help.
What did you enjoy most?
The juices were delicious, fresh and healthy. I particularly enjoyed the raw pad thai with curry coconut sauce for lunch. I never felt I didn’t have enough food. The portions were good and the juices and snacks helped curb hunger at the right time.
How’s the value for money?
A three-day detox or clean eating meal costs Dhs999 – a bit on the higher side. However, for detoxing your body, it’s great as the quality of food and drinks is great. Everything is natural and organic.
