The inaugural Dubai Comedy Festival has announced the line-up of its Arabic night on the 10-day event’s opening night, featuring the best of Arab comedians from around the world.

Called Dubai 3al wagef, which is a reference to stand-up comedy in Arabic, the evening will be headlined by Saudi YouTube sensation Bader Saleh and be hosted by Dubai-based funny man Ali Al Sayed. It will feature Arabs Got Talent finalist Ebrahim Al Khairallah, Saudi Arabian stand-up Fahad Al Butairi, KitKat Comedy Breaks’ ‘Funniest Arab’ Waddah Swar, Egyptian comedy pioneer Mohammad Salem and Palestinian comedian Adi Khalefa.

To be held from October 15 to 24 at a purpose-built venue at SkyDive Dubai, there are also events planned at The Comedy Strip at JBR Walk and other venues around Dubai.

International performers already announced include The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, Dave Chappelle, Hannibal Buress and Jerrod Carmichael. Other highlights include Las Vegas comedy magician Mac King and a line-up of South Asian comedians for Desi Invasion, led by Dubai-based Indian comic Nitin Mirani.
