Excitement is building ahead of the first ever official Dubai Corporate Sports Championship, to be held this weekend February 22-23, in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council and in aid of Friends of Cancer Patients.
Announced recently by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, as one of Dubai Sports Council’s latest sporting initiatives, and appropriately launched in the Year of Tolerance, the official Corporate Sports Championship Dubai is the flagship event of Corporate Sports, the UAE’s corporate wellness leaders.
The Corporate Sports Championship Dubai 2019 will take place over a long weekend and aims to bring corporates and employees together to enhance employee engagement, improve work-life balance, and facilitate friendly competition.
Details about the inaugural Corporate Sports Championship were announced at a press conference held on Sunday at Dubai Sports Council, with Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, and Mohammed Husary, Founder and CEO of Corporate Sports, in attendance.
“The launch of this new initiative comes within the framework of the programs that Dubai Sports Council is seeking to implement and support. The Corporate Sports Championship is an exciting new addition to our sports calendar, for it allows the participants and their colleagues to get out of their offices and bond as a team in a stress-free, sporting environ, and network with professionals from other corporate houses. It also encourages them to embrace a physically active lifestyle,” said Al Rahma.
“Corporate Sports is also spreading the message of tolerance through this tournament, which is important as we are celebrating this year as the Year of Tolerance. With people from more than 200 countries living here together in peace, the UAE is a beacon of tolerance and inclusivity, and this tournament will showcase that.
“The Corporate Sports Championship is also associated with a noble cause: They have pledged to donate AED 100 to Friends of Cancer Patients, one of the UAE’s leading support networks for cancer patients, for every individual who registers for the championship. This is a great gesture by Corporate Sports and we thank them and Mr Husary in particular for aligning themselves with this cause.”
Families and friends are invited to come along and support participants and enjoy lots of child-friendly fun activities and great entertainment in the Family Entertainment Village, on what is set to be the ultimate sports day experience.
The Corporate Sports Championship 2019 is partnering with some of the UAE’s most notable organizations and institutions including one of the region’s leading educational institutions, Swiss International School Dubai, the venue for the prestigious event.
Swiss International School Dubai’s uber-modern and spacious campus, featuring top-class sports facilities and stunning views of Downtown and the Burj Khalifa, makes it both an obvious choice and a natural partner.
There will also be multiple Wellness Seminars, presented by some of Dubai’s leading health professionals, on a range of topics scheduled in Swiss International School Dubai’s impressive auditorium throughout Friday and Saturday for participants and their families.
The event will officially open on Thursday evening with a gala dinner and reception at the stunning Bvlgari Resort on Jumeirah Bay Island, which will soon become an integral feature on the Dubai social calendar.
An awards ceremony will close proceedings on Saturday evening with some amazing prizes to be won including trophies and cash, with the overall best-performing team receiving a 12-month 360° Corporate Wellness Program worth 150,000 AED.
“The Corporate Sports Championship is set to revolutionize corporate wellness in the UAE. With no less than 18 sports and team-building activities, as well as our Wellness Seminar programme and Family Entertainment Village there is literally something for everyone,” said Mohammed Husary, Founder and CEO of Corporate Sports, at the official Corporate Sports Championship’s media conference held at Dubai Sports Council on Sunday.
“It’s fitting we are launching the Corporate Sports Championship in the Year of Tolerance, as the weekend will bring companies, executives, employees and families together as one at the ultimate sports day,” he added.
