As Dubai International welcomes its one billionth international customer, CNN’s John Defterios spoke to H.H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum – Chairman of Dubai Airports and CEO of The Emirates Group.
During the interview with Defterios, Al Maktoum discussed the crucial role customers have played in helping Dubai International reach their goal, saying: “It’s always about the customers. The more you please your customers, they will come again and again.”
Al Maktoum also commented on the US Federal Reserve’s decision to raise inflation, telling CNN that’s the way it’s been for the last 30 years.
On how Dubai International attracts customers:
“We see that the one billion today, it took us 50 years to do 500 million and seven years to do another 500 million passengers and that’s a big achievement. We’re out to make the place very friendly for the customers and doing that using the elevation. It makes it an easy place to come in, to leave, to use the facilities, it’s always about the customers. The more you please your customers, they will come again and again.”
On the US Federal Reserve raising inflation rates:
“This revenue has got to be transferred into dollars, we have losses there but that’s the way it’s been for the last 30 years, it’s always currency, oil prices will always effect the airline.”
