Matriarch of the most famous family in the world, Kris Jenner was in Dubai on Sunday to announce the launch her new venture, Legacy Business School.

The 60-year-old mother-of-six knows a thing or two about business, having worked her family into a global brand, thanks to Keeping Up With the Kardashians, one of the longest running and most watched reality TV shows.

Not only is she executive producer on the show, which launched back in 2007, she also manages her children’s careers, founded Jenner Communications, and is a published author.

ETHICS OF WORK

“I love to mentor young people, and get kids excited about life when they really want to learn. One of the most important things over the last 35 years, was that I was able to help teach my kids about work ethic. We were joking the other day – talking about how annoyed they were in the time during their teenage lives when I’d make them get up at 7 AM, whether it was summer vacation or not. Because a lot of it’s about how you train yourself, and the discipline, and your dedication and focus.”

MENTORSHIP

“It’s one thing I wished that I had. The world is changing so quickly right now, and technology – I am very challenged when it comes to anything ‘tech’. And for my kids to have taught me all the stuff that I now know – especially about the unique social media world, and all the different platforms, and keeping up with it all, it’s definitely something that you have to be really interested in. Being taught in unconventional ways is amazing.”

CAREERING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

“My advice is to find something that you really, really love to do – and what you’re best at. Sometimes we don’t even know what it is yet. So to explore some great things that you do in life, and the nature of just going into school, and enrolling in something that you’re interested in, something you can really build a life in – and that’s what I tell my kids, their friends, and everybody that’s around me. “I always say ‘What are you good at, and what do you love to do? And let’s start there.’”

THE BUSINESS OF SCHOOL

“I built a ground-breaking business from nothing, because I had the courage to think big, and to work really hard. “Even after the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians became the most watched show on E! TV, and was broadcast in over 60 countries, I said ‘I have another idea’. And now, I want to pay that forward. “One of my personal mottos, is ‘carpe diem’ – seize the day. In other words, don’t let a golden opportunity pass you by. Now is the perfect time for turning your dream into a reality.”
